Current Velo-CT Protocols

Latest Update: May 18, 2021 - EFFECTIVE MAY 19, 2021

At Velo-CT, health and safety is our number one priority.  As State restrictions are eased and CDC and USASwimming guidelines are updated, we will adjust our protocols to the extent possible while continuing to maintain a safe and healthy environment for Staff, Swimmers, Members and Clients of all ages.

An individual is considered Fully Vaccinated 14 days following his/her second vaccination shot (or single shot in the case of J&J).

We do not require proof of vaccination at this time as we believe our Members, Swimmers, and other clients will be considerate of all individuals at Velo-CT and will continue to help us maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Masks:

  • Fully Vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear masks.

  • Individuals who are not fully vaccinated are required to continue to wear a mask at all times while in the Facility to the point of water entry/exit.

Air Travel:

  • Fully Vaccinated individuals are not subject to any travel restrictions.

  • Individuals who are not fully vaccinated:

    • Domestic: May not enter Velo-CT for 7 days following arrival.

      • Option to return after 3 days: provide negative COVID result from a test taken no fewer than 3 days following arrival.

    • International: May not enter Velo-CT for 10 days following arrival.

      • Option to return after 7 days: provide negative COVID result from a test taken no fewer than 3 days following arrival.

Daily Health Declaration:

We will no longer be requiring any individuals to complete a Daily Health Declaration.   We ask that, as always, please stay home if you feel sick.

Reservation System:

We will continue to use our reservation system.  Individuals must have a reservation (or scheduled class) to enter.  No walk-ins.

Lap Lanes:

Effective JUNE 1 our lane capacity will increase to 3-swimmers per lane.

Effective JULY 1 our lane capacity will increase to 4-swimmers per lane.

Reservations are lane specific.

Lanes continue to be for lap swimming only.  Open Swim remains suspended.

Fitness Stations:

Capacity remains 1-individual per Fitness Station.

Reservations are station specific.

Locker Rooms:

Effective June 1 showering will be permitted.

Towel service remains suspended.

(Women’s Adult Only locker room will remain closed until further notice.)

Swim Lessons & REC Team:

  • Beginning June 1, we will increase our class and lane capacity.  Capacity will continue to be determined by the number of swimmers we can safely accommodate by level, and will continue to follow CDC, State, and USASwimming guidelines and recommendations.

  • Protocols for Private Lessons, Group Lessons, and REC Team remain the same.   Entry is restricted to the Swimmer and ONE (1) parent/guardian.  The parent/guardian will be able to check-in the Swimmer and accompany the swimmer to the Pool Deck.  Once Swimmers have entered the water, no parent/guardian will be permitted to remain on the Pool Deck.  At the conclusion of practice, Swimmers will be escorted by a staff member to the Post-Swim Pick-Up Area at the front of the building.

Please see Swim Programs pages for additional information.
