Lifeguard Training & Certification
Lifeguard Training & Certification at Velo-CT provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.

Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years.
​
All participants must be:
-
at least 15 years of age prior to the first scheduled session,
-
able to tread water for two (2) minutes,
-
able to swim 300 yards continuously.

Approximate Time:
20 hours combined in water and in classroom
8 hours online pre-course work to be completed prior to first scheduled session

Lifeguard Review & Recertification
An abbreviated Lifeguarding course that briefly reviews course information and allows practice of skills and knowledge before testing. Current certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED is required to participate in the review course. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years.

All participants must have a current Lifeguard Certificate (or expired no more than 30 days)

Our Staff will work with you to schedule the in water and classroom portion of this course.
Schedule around times that work for you as an individual, or schedule with a few friends and schedule a course together!
